Q : Do I need to use the repair shops that my insurance company represents?
A: By law, you have the right to have your car repaired at a shop of your choice.
At Runway Auto we believe quality is the only standard, so make us your choice.
Q: Will my insurance rates go up if I report my accident and file a claim?
A: By law, you are required to report any motor vehicle accident. As far as rate increases are concerned, most insurance
companies now offer "accident forgiveness" on your 1st at fault accident. You should always check your policy coverages to
confirm that you have the appropriate coverage. If you find it overwhelming call your broker or insurance agent to review.
Q: Will Runway use brand new parts to repair my vehicle?
A: If your repairs are completed under a claim, it is up to the insurance company to decide which parts we can use.
Speak with your claims adjuster if you are concerned about new parts versus "other" parts.
Q: Will Runway repair my car back to its original condition?
A: We have trained technicians and the latest equipment to ensure the repairs to your car meet manufacturer specifications.
It is our responsibility to ensure your car is safe as it was before the accident.
Q: Do I need to report my accident to the police?
A: By law, in most jurisdictions, you should report any accident involving a car to the police.
Many jurisdictions WILL NOT dispatch the police to the scene of an accident if there are only minor damages (under $1000/accident).
Q: Who can report an accident to an insurance company?
A: The registered owner of the car or a named insured on an insurance policy may report any accidents or damages to the insurance company.
Q: Would I need to replace my child's car seat after an accident?
A: We always recommend replacing your child's car seat after an accident. Let your claims adjuster know there was a car
seat in your car at the time of the accident even if your child was not in the seat.
Q: Does "no fault" insurance mean that no one is at fault?
A: "No fault" insurance does not mean that no one is at fault. "No fault" insurance means that drivers deal with their own insurance company directly.
